Become a Tax Preparer

Successfully completing this 60-hour beginner course qualifies one to become a registered tax preparer in the State of California.   

How it Works

Get the FREE materials right now for the 60-hour tax course;
read these materials carefully while taking the open-book exam;
submit your completed answer form and course fee by web, fax, or mail;
get your test results, certificate, and CTEC credits shortly thereafter;
click on the CTEC link in your email to submit the State application.

Study First, Pay Later

The 60-hour course fee is only $125 when students submit their test information on our website ($135 when test information is mailed, emailed, or faxed). This fee is only requested AFTER you complete the open-book exam, so you may freely examine the entire program at no risk before beginning the course.

Pass or Don't Pay

97% of our students pass this course on their first attempt.  Those who do not pass this basic tax course get their money back, along with a review of their test responses and an invitation to retake the same test.
