CTEC Information California Tax School has been approved by CTEC to offer Course 3055-QE-1060, Introduction to Tax Laws, which provides 45 hours of federal credit and 15 hours of state credit towards the qualifying education requirement imposed by the State of California. A listing of additional requirements to register as a tax preparer may be obtained by contacting CTEC at P.O. Box 2890, Sacramento, CA 95812-2890, toll-free by phone at 877-850-2832, or on the Internet at www.ctec.org. Prerequisites To participate, you must be at least 18 years of age and have a social security number. There are no other prerequisites for this entry-level course. Required Materials
Passing Score The open-book exam consists of 500 questions (multiple-choice and true-false) which are directly related to the assigned reading materials. A minimum score of 70% (350 correct answers) is required for successful course completion. Electronic CTEC Reporting Once it is determined that a student has scored 70% or higher on the final exam, that student’s file is immediately forwarded to the course administrator who accesses the CTEC database, creates a student record, and credits that successful student with 45 federal hours and 15 state hours. Test Review All students who submit the grading fee will receive a review of their 500 test responses at the end of the course. Certificate of Completion After successfully completing the course, students will receive two copies of their certificate of completion: a digital copy which will be delivered by email, and a hard copy which will be mailed to the address provided on the Student Answer Form. |
