Once it is determined that a student has scored 70% or higher on the final exam, that student’s file is forwarded to the course administrator who then accesses the CTEC database and instantly credits that successful student’s CTEC account with 20 continuing education hours. As of May 2012, the new IRS system does not yet allow for instant crediting of continuing education. Instead, approved education providers (such as the California Tax School) must send a list of graduate names and PTINs to the IRS on a quarterly basis. If and when the IRS upgrades their education reporting system, we will accelerate our procedures accordingly.
